RAKU FIRING 1998

When I take out a glistening peice from the kiln, and I cover it with the mixture of sand and sawdust, it will cause the sawdust to burn, while the sand will reduce the fire, and it starts to smoke the piece, that I had placed in. Depending on the amount of smoke it receives, the piece will get a blackish, or greyish shade. The glaze that covers it changes along with that, and by being unpredictible, it has different looks. It is like that every piece gets its soul in the smoke. I would name these works as my 'Inner Voices'.
